Our current favorite is "Stop the Clock" (since we have been learning about time):
The students not only match the analog and digital clocks together, but they also try to beat the best time! One of my small groups got the time down to 17 seconds. You can see my personal best above. ;) There are several different levels of this game available, so you can go as high or low as you need to.
Diane and Kelly over at Made For 1st Grade even made a recording sheet for students to complete if they play the game independently. Love it--thanks, ladies!
I also plan on using this 100s chart mystery game very soon:
In this round, the mystery number was 43. (I clicked on 36 and 45 numbers to show what happens when you click on a space.) Students are forced to use their knowledge of number patterns and 100s chart patterns to find the mystery number--I love it!
We will be using it as soon as we finish building our 100s chart in calendar time:
Here is another game we will be playing soon:
There are actually 13 versions of this sequencing game--talk about differentiation!! It is available with numbers going forwards and backwards (as seen above). Love it.
Go on over to the Oswego Games list and see what they have!
Enjoy the games AND enjoy your Easter!! :)
Thank you for posting about these games. I love Stop the Clock. It gave some of my kids a push to really understand time to improve their personal best time in reading the clocks.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Stop the Clock! The kids love it too.
